Designed to process 300 tonnes per day of organic waste at a bulk density of 700 kg/m³, the system features 12 aerated concrete channels, each 10 feet wide and 360 feet long, for a 4-week processing cycle. The channels are grouped into sets of three, fully enclosed for moisture control and to enable air extraction to four biofilters. Aeration and leachate collection are managed by Bioworks’ Airfloor® system.

Three custom-built Transform compost turners agitate the compost mix and transfer material across eight aeration zones from load-in to load-out. The system is complemented by an overhead irrigation setup, through-wall temperature probes, and associated metalworks for enhanced monitoring and process efficiency.

Bioworks provided comprehensive support, including detailed design and construction drawings, along with a 90-page illustrated construction manual to guide the lead engineering consultant and the client’s construction team through implementation.
